Hi,

Since everything is included for everybody, you only need money for transport to/back from the camp plus some extra money. This money usually goes to beer, soda¨s, snacks and a sarong or two.

But it is always good to have some extra cash in case something happanes and since the nearest ATM is 30 minutes away, so I would recommend you to bring 2 million rupiah per person.

Looking around for places to go with family in June (Singapore school holidays), and want to learn the basics of surfing and a little adventure.  Not interested in going to the typical resorts, etc....

How is it June?  Open?  Worth going?

What about bringing family (2 kids; 11 and 6)?

Thx....

Inga problem!

Hi pn_singapore,

Unfortunately we will not be open for normal camps in June, we will however have some volunteer camps to build a skate pool!

If you are not looking for the typical resorts i guess you would love our place, but unfortunately there are not to many others around.

One of our friends that will join us for the camp is a girl. We wonder if it's usually many girls attending to the surf camps?

Is it only scandinavians attending to the camp?

How is the rooms divided?

How do we pay the fee for the camp?

How is it with the environment around the camp, such as villages and cities? Is there any optional restaurant or hotel you can have a dinner at?

Thanks in advance for answer and hopefully we'll see each other soon! ^^

Fri, 03/12/2010 - 13:56    |   Hi Fredrik, Actually, more   |    #11

Hi Fredrik,

Actually, more than half of all our guests are girls.

Everyone is welcome to our surf camp, but since we started as a scandinavian surf camp we still have a lot of guests from Sweden and Norway.

We have three rooms with five beds in each, then we have a few more private rooms for couples etc.

You find information about payment in the PDF documents under booking in the main menu.

We live at the very outer edge of small village, in this village there are some market stands, small shops and a few places to eat. But it is not very good food if you compare it to what we eat in the camp. However, we do have a few motorbikes which you can use to go about 7km to Kuta and you will find a lot of places to eat. There is also a Novotel with wifi in this area.

Hello there again! I'm thinking of the camp every day as the summer in Sweden slowly passes before my eyes.

I want to ask you guys if you think it's necessary to get some kind of extra insurance and do you have any suggestion of insurances (swedish ones)?

Peace!

Hi Wazza1990,

The first camp next year starts 30th of January.

And to answer Fredriks question: The home insurance (hemförsäkring) covers you for the first 45 days of travelling. Usually it covers everything you need, but call yur insurance comapny and ask.

Could anyone recommend somewhere to stay in the kuta/legian area for two nights? I fly into Bali late at night so I would like to have accommodation for when I land.

Thanks.

Check out Hotel Lusa which is located sort of on the border between Kuta and Legian, you can book ahead, ask for a room in the 3-storey building, those are the best. www.hotellusakuta.com

You can book your return ticket when you´re at the camp, no problem. Our local co worker Mat can help you with this.

Hejsan!

Jag undrar om det är en bra idé att komma i Januari/Februari? Hur ser vädret ut då? läste att det var "regnsäsong" men det kan ju betyda lite vad som helst.

.. och bör man ta vaccin mot malaria?

The wave size varies between waist high to about head high with the avarage around chest high. We have around 5-10 days a year when the waves are to small to surf, so it is very consistent even though it is not always big.

The weather during the part of the rainy season is not a problem for the surf, there are some heavy showers of rain but thats might actually happen at any time of the year. You will have plenty of sunshine anyway, much more than you need...

Hi Guys, I'll be joining the camp from the 14th of February for two weeks. Was wondering if reef booties are necessary and if it's possible to buy these in Bali/Lombok? Greetz

Reef boots can be very good to have and we do have so you can borrow at the camp. If you want to buy your own you can easily  buy them on Bali, you can get them on Lombok too but that will take some more effort from your side to find the right shops.
