SCL has written surfing history by starting the first shaping bay in Lombok. “BANYU” means water in Indonesian and was co-founded together with our local partner Sudir in 2010, who also has a son with the same name (Banyu). Our surfboards are hand made of the highest quality EPS/EPOXY, this gives you the feeling of a traditional board and the quality from modern technology. 

Much thanks to Sudir' s Japanese friend and surfboard shaper Ryosuke Hori, we now have a shaping bay with top modern equipment and the ability to make surfboard designs according to your individual surfing style. The surfcamp guests are launch customers for BANYU surfboards with a test center available for all guests during their stay. If you like the boards we can of course make a BANYU board for you. We believe this is a great opportunity for our guests to try many different board designs for as long as you need, in colaboration with our surf coaches you can find a board that really suits your style of surfing.
