About us

Sailing Lombok was born from a simple idea: to share the kind of days we never want to end. Slow mornings on the water, spontaneous swims in clear seas, unhurried island-hopping, and sunsets that quietly become the highlight of the journey. We don’t chase polished luxury—instead, we believe in space to breathe, time to slow down, and the freedom to experience the ocean without crowds or noise. For us, true luxury is found in salt air, open horizons, and good company.

Lombok is our home, and its coastline remains wild, honest, and full of quiet magic. We shape each trip around the wind, tides, and rhythm of the sea—never rigid schedules—guiding you to hidden beaches, vibrant reefs, and golden evening anchorages. Whether you’re an experienced sailor or simply drawn to the ocean, you’re welcome here. At Sailing Lombok, we don’t just offer day trips—we share a way of being on the water: simple, mindful, and deeply connected, leaving you with lasting memories long after you return to shore.

Our Story

In the heart of Sulawesi—where legendary Phinisi schooners are still crafted by hand—our trimaran began as a dream. Inspired by the philosophy of James Wharram, a Swedish sailor and multihull expert envisioned a vessel rooted in simplicity, balance, and harmony with nature. Built from local materials and shaped by skilled craftsmen in traditional shipyards, she was designed to honor centuries-old boatbuilding while embracing a more sustainable way of sailing. But before the project could be completed, her creator passed away, leaving behind three unfinished hulls, a model, and a vision without a final blueprint.

When we discovered her, incomplete yet full of intention, we knew her story deserved to continue. Under the Sulawesi sun, we brought her back to life—carefully shaping each detail with respect for both tradition and innovation. Today, she sails not just as a vessel, but as a living legacy: carrying the spirit of her original dream, the craftsmanship of her builders, and our commitment to thoughtful, wind-powered exploration. Some journeys begin at sea—ours began in a shipyard, with three hulls and a story waiting to be completed.
